Fans of the Harry Potter saga, rejoice! The French fan film The House of Gaunt: Lord Voldemort Origins, centered on the youth of the famous villain and which took no less than four years of work, is finally available online. AlloCiné met the director Joris Faucon Grimaud to discuss this adventure unlike any other … necessarily magical!
AlloCiné: Your ambitious fan film “House of Gaunt”, centered on the youth of Voldemort, is finally available. What state of mind are you in?
Joris Faucon Grimaud: I am both stressed and excited. It’s a moment we’ve been waiting for three years with the team. After the previews and the meeting with the public, we are very happy that the film is accessible to as many people as possible.
Why did you decide to embark on this crazy project? Love Harry Potter?
It is at the same time the love of cinema, the dream of putting the Harry Potter universe in images and also to put a first step in the cinema. And hope to be able to meet producers and distributors for my first feature film. It has always been my dream and I found it natural to start with this fan film.
What would you say to Harry Potter fans who will discover your film?
To watch it in good conditions in order to make the most of the heavy atmosphere of the film.
It was a test of every moment on the set, we gave everything to please the fans and I hope with all my heart that this fan film will satisfy them.
The ambitious short film The House of Gaunt: Lord Voldemort Origins mobilized a team of 80 volunteers. In the role of the famous bad-guy, we find the actor Maxence Danet-Fauvel, known in particular for having played Eliott Demaury in the Skam series.
