The iPhone 13 is finally official. On Tuesday, the Cupertino company presented its new standard bearers at the California Streaming event.
The reaction of Google, which is today a competitor of Apple in the smartphone market, was not long in coming. The company’s message: wait for the Pixel 6!
This message was sent to the Nexus smartphone Twitter account, Google’s old line of smartphones, which was discontinued when the company launched the Pixel smartphones. “I would wait for # Pixel6”, can we read on the tweet which was published just after the announcement of the iPhone 13.
As a reminder, Google has already revealed some information about the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro. Instead of using a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, these two mobiles will use a Tensor chip that has been designed by Google to better meet its needs, especially in terms of artificial intelligence.
We also know that Google has some big photography improvements planned, and the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will have a higher-end positioning. On the other hand, prices could also be higher.
No official date yet
At the moment, it is not yet known when Google will introduce the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Nevertheless, a date is already circulating on the web. Indeed, a few days ago, the Mountain View firm published a teasing which suggests that the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro could be presented on October 19.
Before presenting its new smartphones, Google could first launch Android 12. But the launch date of this new version of the OS has not yet been mentioned by the company.
Based on a leak we relayed this week, it is possible that Google will roll out the final version of Android 12 to compatible Pixel smartphones from October 4.
Like the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the launch of Android 12 will also be very important for Google. Indeed, with this new version, the firm introduces a new Android interface called Material You.
As a reminder, for its part, iOS 15 will begin to be deployed on compatible iPhones on September 20.
