He didn’t want to call the convenience store. Thursday, September 9, 2021, the gendarmes of the motorized platoon of Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées) intercepted a car from the 1960s which was traveling at very low speed on theA64. And for good reason… he was missing a wheel!
A classic car at 40 km / h on the highway
On their Facebook page, the soldiers explain that the facts took place at 6 p.m., at the level of the town of Tournay. “The motorcycling gendarmes note that a vintage vehicle circulates at low speed, about 40km / h, in the direction of Tarbes”, we can read on the post published on Sunday, September 12th.
The car – a beautiful Citroën DS – rolls half on the slow lane and half on the emergency lane. Obviously, bikers are intrigued …
It was traveling without a right rear wheel
The gendarmes then decide to catch up with the vehicle and to carry out a check. Instantly, they discover that the right rear wheel is missing from this vintage car.
The driver had been traveling in this way for several kilometers. He had not wished to contact a convenience store and felt that his car could be driven.
The explanation did not convince the gendarmes since the motorist was fined for circulating a vehicle without a tire. The car was immobilized.
