Manchester United announced this Thursday evening that they had to cancel their preseason friendly match at Preston North End (D2), scheduled for Saturday, after several suspected cases of players infected with Covid-19.
“As a result of the routine testing of the first team training group, today we identified a small number of suspected positive cases, explains the club in a press release. This has led these people to self-isolate, pending further testing. ”
The Red Devils will therefore play a final friendly against Everton, on August 7 at Old Trafford, a week before hosting Leeds, on the first day of the Premier League.
