After the French women’s team hosted last spring, the city of the Lion will receive its male counterpart in August. A real feat and, above all, a great moment of sport to experience just a few days after the Olympic Games where the Blues are clearly aiming for a medal.
Decidedly, it is indeed a true idyll which now links Belfort and the French Volleyball Federation. The two parties, bound by agreement for the arrival of the French women’s team once a year by 2024, also managed to agree on the arrival of the boys in northern Franche-Comté.
Just after Tokyo
A case probably initiated during the Qualifying Tournament for the European Women’s Championship last May during which the President of the FFVB Eric Tanguy would have been seduced by the words of Pierre-Jérôme Collard, sports assistant for the city of Belfort, and the President of ASM Belfort Volleyball, Stéphane Marazzi.
The Belfort club is therefore assigned the task of organizing a training camp for the Blues from August 9 to 29. The date is not trivial, the day after the Olympic Games in Tokyo where the Blues of Earvin Ngapeth, following their bronze medal in the last League of Nations last June, are clearly aiming for the podium.
Rezende’s first steps
Crowned with an Olympic gold medal, the French team would therefore certainly be acclaimed as a heroine for its return to France and Belfort will therefore be entitled to a real scoop. Premier doubled because it will also be the first steps of the new Brazilian coach Bernardo Rezende, the best technician in the world according to specialists.
