Game news Beyond Good & Evil 2: Development Continues, But You Have To Be Patient

In 2017, Ubisoft unveiled the first trailer for Beyond Good & Evil 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the much-loved Beyond Good & Evil. Since then, the developers have presented demos, but the development of the title seems to have taken a long time to go in the right direction.
It has been a good year since we have had any concrete news from the game, at least not since Michel Ancel left Ubisoft, not without noise. In October 2020, Yves Guillemot however tried to reassure the players by indicating that the development was going well, without revealing any exit window. Yesterday, Ubisoft unveiled the results of its first fiscal quarter 2021-2022, the opportunity to discover that Beyond Good & Evil 2 was still on the shelves. Asked about the progress of the game and a possible release during the fiscal year 2023-2024 during the traditional call to investors, Ubisoft, through Frederick Duget, said:
We’re making good progress with the development of Beyond Good & Evil 2, but it’s too early to tell you more at this point.
In the financial statement, we speak of the title as allowing “the renewal of a beloved franchise”. Ubisoft Montpellier’s production is a reminder considered as a AAAA, a very, very big budget game with immense ambitions. Finally, the discourse has not changed since the intervention of Yves Guillemot last fall. Remember all the same that a Beyond Good & Evil movie has been announced by Netflix in partnership with Ubisoft, and that it should be produced by Rob Letterman (Detective Pikachu). Finally, it should be noted that the financial results for this first fiscal quarter are down, Ubisoft announcing a 17% drop in net income to € 353 million. A decline considered normal after the exceptional year 2020, but which should be offset by the current quarter.
