Santa Fe. Friends and colleagues have said goodbye to camerawoman Halyna Hutchins, who was killed while filming. On Saturday evening (local time) hundreds gathered in a town square in central Albuquerque, around 100 kilometers from Santa Fe. They remembered those killed and called for a detailed analysis of the events and better security precautions.
Many lit candles at sunset, observed a minute’s silence, and recited poetry. Several speakers recalled the artistic achievements of the 42-year-old, who was shot by Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin while filming in the US state of New Mexico.
The investigators in New Mexico checked whether all safety regulations were being observed during the work on the Western “Rust”. The newspaper “Los Angeles Times” reported, citing two crew members on site, five days before the death of the camerawoman, Baldwin’s stunt double accidentally fired twice, although he had previously been assured that the gun was not loaded. An employee wrote a text message to a production manager, according to the report, saying the accidentally fired shots were very dangerous. The “New York Times” also reported such shots.

Another member of the film crew told the AP news agency that he had not heard that there had been an official clearing-up about the weapons that were used during the filming. Usually this happens before production begins.
