In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Roth revealed that he took on the role of Bruce Banner’s opponent Abomination because of his children. Not because he thought his children would be proud of him, but on the contrary: He knew that his children would be ashamed of him and he just wanted to tease them a little. Roth said:
“I did ‘The Incredible Hulk’ years ago because I thought my kids would be ashamed of it. I did it for her and I really enjoyed it. as [Disney] came to me and said, ‘We’re adapting She-Hulk. Would you like to return to your old role? ‘ I thought sure. Will definitely be fun. However, I was surprised as it was a little difficult at the beginning. It wasn’t until Mark Ruffalo came over to shoot his scenes that I thought, ‘Oh, that’s how you do it. With humor!’ “
