Magdalena “Leni” Föger has been in the modeling business for three years. But Corona put the beautiful Burgenlander on the catwalk career.
Her big dream is to run for luxury brands like Prada or Dior. But instead of presenting the latest fashions, Magdalena “Leni” Föger sat – like many others – in lockdown on the couch. “Because of Corona, I didn’t have a job for 1.5 years,” the 20-year-old tells in an interview with “Today”. Leni started modeling three years ago. “At that time the order situation was still good.”
“I had photo shoots, modeled in Milan, Paris and New York and also went to the Vienna Fashion Week. Then the pandemic came and no more orders came in. I suddenly didn’t hear anything from my agency”, so the Burgenland woman. The young woman then concentrated on her studies. “I studied law for four semesters and commuted back and forth between my flat share in Vienna and my parents’ house in Bad Sauerbrunn.”
Back on the catwalk
But Föger should soon be walking on the catwalk again. Through star photographer Martin Wieland, the Burgenlander got in touch with “Austria’s Next Top Model” inventor Dominik Wachta, who founded the agency “1st Place Models” two years ago in his adopted country of Spain. Wachta signed a contract with Leni as soon as they got to know each other. “I’ve only been there for two weeks and have already had shoots for Ewa Zbaraza, the sports brand Ylva and the Hotkultur label,” says the happy young woman.
“Leni is a very special type and certainly has international opportunities in classic haute couture markets,” says Wachta with certainty. For the first time back on the catwalk, the model appeared at a charity fashion show for the Vienna aid organization. Nevertheless, the young woman does not want to stop studying. “I’m starting the bachelor’s degree in environmental and bioresource management at Boku Vienna in autumn.”
