Che death occurred at home, like the majority of deaths since the start of the third wave. It dates back to June 3, according to the information available on the website of the CIUSSS de la Mauricie and Center-du-Québec. This is the 15th death since the start of the third wave and the 531st since the start of the pandemic last year in the region.
Despite this shadow on the table, the decrease in the number of active cases continued on Saturday. There are only 85 active cases in the region, 10 fewer than the day before. The Mauricie therefore now has 32 active cases and the Center-du-Québec, 53.
As for the new cases of COVID-19, they were 10 in number, in the report published on Saturday by the CIUSSS. There are four in Trois-Rivières, four in the Drummond MRC and two in the Arthabaska MRC.
There is also one hospitalization less than Friday, for a total of four. Two of those hospitalized are still in intensive care. Nineteen more people are considered to have recovered.
So far, 367,797 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been distributed in the region. Remember that after moving to downtown Trois-Rivières, the CIUSSS mobile vaccination clinic is in Drummondville near Woodyatt Park. She will stay there until 5 p.m.
