The Landes breeders were impatiently awaiting the results of the laboratories. After the discovery of a suspected case in the Gers, in Cazaubon, the results of the epidemiological investigation, carried out by the veterinary services, fell: this is a false alarm, it is not the avian influenza virus. The reinforced surveillance, imposed in three municipalities in the Landes (Parleboscq, Escalans and Gabarret) is therefore lifted.
End of drastic measures in three municipalities in the Landes
This suspicious case was discovered in a duck farm in the Gers, in the town of Cazaubon, which is located on the border with the Landes. The three municipalities in the Landes were therefore placed under enhanced surveillance, called temporary control zone. As required by the decree taken by the Landes prefecture, the breeders of Parleboscq, Escalans and Gabarret therefore had to comply with drastic measures. No poultry or other birds were to enter or leave the holdings. Farmers also had to keep all their poultry confined.
But the Gers prefecture assures us, this is not a case of bird flu in this cannon farm. The prefecture of the Landes therefore lifts, in stride, the measures imposed on these three Landes communes.
