Two months after Emmanuel Macron’s announcement, nursing staff must have received at least one dose of vaccine against Covid-19 on Wednesday September 15 to go to work. This concerns the staff of the hospital, nursing homes, home helpers but also firefighters. Without this vaccination, employees will be suspended without pay.
We have heard a lot in recent weeks that the hospital was going to suffer, losing staff in sectors already under strain. Corn, in Mayenne hospitals, caregivers are ultimately vaccinated at more than 90%. This obligation will probably leave traces. “They played a dangerous game”, this is what a nurse from the Laval hospital said on this subject. Finally, the Mayenne establishments should not witness waves of departures of caregivers who refuse the vaccine.
In Laval, we do not yet comment on the figures, nor on the organization. Management expected vaccinations until the very last moment. Four nurses, for example, have already made it known that they will no longer come to work. It’s not much, it’s true, but “these are services that are in difficulty” slips a trade unionist.
In Mayenne, we will be more than 90% of staff vaccinated. A dozen caregivers and nurses should step back. Most of the other caregivers have started the vaccination, especially as soon as the wallet is touched. In Château-Gontier, the human resources department is not worried, health executives have not raised any particular concerns. Some replacements will undoubtedly have to be managed as sick leaves, a situation which will complicate matters even more.
