New car registrations fell by 24% during the first 6 months of this year 2021 compared to the same period in 2019 (so two years ago, the first half of 2020 being very particular because of the first confinement linked to the epidemic of Covid-19). A total of over 230,000 cars have been registered. Auto manufacturers face difficulties in sourcing electronic components, causing delays in the arrival of some vehicles and “a small difference in registrations”, explains a dealer. The proportion of electric and hybrid cars is increasing. They now represent 30% of overall new car sales.
