A 35-year-old man appeared on Tuesday October 26 after pretending to be Brigitte Macron’s nephew but also for having usurped the names of the directors of the cabinets of the Élysée in order to obtain a VIP welcome or luxury services.

In front of the 13th room, the defendant admitted to having created in spring 2018, via the internet host OVH, a false email address: [email protected]çaise.fr. He signed his consignments as Pierre-Olivier Costa, director of Brigitte Macron’s cabinet, or Patrick Strzoda, director of Emmanuel Macron’s cabinet, who joined as a civil party. The accused used his accounts to request specific services: a VIP welcome in a luxury hotel in Morocco, seats for a grand prize of Formula 1 in Melbourne or a Club 2000 card from Air France.

Most of these attempts were unsuccessful, however, following verifications carried out by the companies concerned. Brigitte Macron’s “false nephew” had explained to investigators that “all of this proceeded from his mythomania and his difficulty in staying in his life. “In front of the court, he admitted to being attracted by “status, prestige, privileges”. He denies having acted “for the money” or “to do harm”. The hearing is scheduled to continue on Wednesday.
