From Wednesday to Thursday were in Austria 2,169 new corona infections registered. This value is well above the average of the past seven days with 1,845 cases.
There is also eight new deaths in connection with a Covid-19 infection, so the pandemic has so far 11.143 Fatalities required in Austria. The number of active cases ascends 20.398. The seven-day incidence lies by 145,08.
There are currently 870 hospitals in Austria people in connection with a Covid disease, that’s about five more than the day before. 217 Patient lie in an intensive care unit – that’s over four more than the day before. According to AGES, the utilization of intensive care beds with Covid patients is ten percent.
According to the federal vaccination dashboard, 11,759 corona vaccinations were carried out yesterday, Wednesday. According to the data in the e-vaccination pass, a total of 5,801,176 Austrians have already received at least one partial vaccination. That’s 64.9 percent of the population. 5,498,383 people (61.6 percent) are already fully immunized.
A closer look at the full immunization rates by age group shows that 50.4 percent of the twelve to 24 year olds are vaccinated twice, in the age group of 25 to 34 years the rate is 59.8 percent and among the 35 to 44 year olds 65.3 percent. 69.7 percent of people between 45 and 54 years of age are protected against Covid-19 with two stings, 78.4 percent in the 55 to 64 group. The 65 to 74 year olds have a full immunization rate of 83.6 percent 75- to 84-year-olds 88.5 percent and the group 85plus 88.6 percent.
The vaccination rate (fully immunized) is highest in Burgenland at 69.1 percent. In Lower Austria 64.4 percent of the population are vaccinated, in Styria 62.3 percent. After Vienna (60.6), Vorarlberg (60.4), Tyrol (59.8), Carinthia (58.1) and Salzburg (57.8), Upper Austria brings up the rear with a vaccination rate of 56.6 percent.
