The focus of new corona infections in Germany has shifted to the southeast. The Risklayer project shows that the health authorities have reported 12,225 new corona cases. This increases the seven-day incidence slightly to 71 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The day before it was 70.

The state with the highest incidence is Thuringia with 113, followed by Saxony with 104 and Bavaria with 99. These are also the federal states in which the vaccination rate is significantly lower than in the north-west German federal states. With an incidence of 60, Saxony-Anhalt is even further below the national average.
