About a hundred people gathered in front of the Auch Regional Health Agency to protest against the compulsory vaccination of caregivers.
“Last year we were heroes. Today, we are thrown away like filthy people. The anger of Michelle Serafin, nursing assistant for 25 years at the Gimont hospital, is immense. Since this Wednesday, September 15, the vaccination obligation for nursing staff has come into force. Unvaccinated, she paid the price and was suspended.
At his side, six of his colleagues were also summoned by their management: “We were told that as long as we are not vaccinated, we will no longer be able to work and we will no longer be paid”, chokes one of the between them.
A delegation received by the ARS
All responded to the call to demonstrate by the CGT health-social action of Gers in front of the premises of the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Auch. The slogan: “Denounce the degradation of our health and social action system and demand the withdrawal of the health pass and the vaccination obligation”.
In total, they were nearly a hundred to come to express their anger or their support for caregivers, surrounded by a few municipal police officers.
At the end of the mobilization, a delegation, made up of ten people, was received by the ARS: “We want to show that these suspensions will worsen an already very complicated situation in certain establishments in terms of staff. The continuity of patient care is threatened ”, assures Christophe Bukovec, the departmental representative of the CGT health-social action.
