“The Prince”: British royal family mocked in satirical series launched by HBO

HBO Max has unveiled its new animated, satirical series dedicated to the Royal Family of England. This was called “The Prince”.

The royal family of England is once again in the spotlight. While this has been the subject of numerous polemics, especially since MeghanMarkle and Harry have resigned from their royal duties, a animated series staging it has just seen the light of day. Indeed, the HBO Max platform unveiled the 12 episodes, Thursday, July 29, of its new production called The Prince. These are not yet available in France.

The Prince was written by Gary Janetti, American producer behind the animated series Family Guy. The tone is therefore … satirical. A first series devoted to the royal family of England was unveiled in 2016. It is about The Crown, available on Netflix, which first traces the life ofElizabeth II before looking at that of Princess Lady Diana.

What will The Prince talk about?

In this one, it’s the prince George, the first son of Kate Middleton and you prince William who was chosen to play the main character. Through the 12 episodes the little boy (now 8 years old) tells about his extraordinary life and is brought to comment on all the news that affects his family. His character, somewhat haughty, coward to a palace servant: “Excuse me, do you have any tea that doesn’t taste like piss?”. The tone is set.

In the trailer we find his sister the princess charlotte but also the princes Charles, William, Harry as well as their wives Camilla Parker Bowles, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. The queen is obviously present, just like her late husband, the prince Philip. In the original version, Orlando Bloom lends his voice to Harry, Gary Janetti to Prince George and Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) à la princess charlotte.
