Tesla had a good first half. The Californian manufacturer has indeed communicated the figures for the second quarter, thus completing a first half of the year bearing hope for Tesla, which delivered 386,000 vehicles around the world between January 1 and June 30.
Strong growth compared to 2020 (+ 121% in the second quarter) but which is not crazy given the context of the pandemic in 2020 and the industrial progress of Tesla in the world. However, it should be noted that almost all sales were of Model 3 and Y, necessarily less profitable than Model S and X.
Tesla told us several months ago that their production would resume soon (following the presentation of the new Plaid version), but it is clear that this is not done. Or, in any case, it doesn’t show in the numbers yet.
Of the 201,250 Tesla delivered in the second quarter, 199,360 were Model 3 and Y. But where are the Model S and X ?! In any case, Tesla is in the process of achieving a small feat: overtaking Volvo in global sales and get closer to the Mercedes / BMW / Audi / Lexus quartet.
