Good fiber internet plan: SFR or Bouygues, their entry-level offers under the microscope

It is possible to access fiber speeds for less than 20 euros per month for a year, provided you make some concessions. At SFR, the monthly bill requested for its Box 7 limited series then amounts to 38 euros against 29.99 euros for the special Bbox Fit series from Bouygues Telecom. We count the points and tell you which internet package to choose.

1. The debits

SFR’s fiber box promises up to 500 Mbit / s for downloading and uploading. This is much more than what the Bouygues Telecom internet box offers with its 300 Mbit / s download and 200 Mbit / s send. Note that these two internet boxes are Wi-Fi 802.11 AC compatible.

SFR advantage

2. Appeals

For both, calls are unlimited to landlines in France and to more than 100 destinations. However, neither of these two offers includes unlimited calls to mobiles.

3. The TV

The Bbox Fit is not a triple-play offer. In other words, the Bouygues subscription does not include a TV package. SFR therefore takes the point with its 160 channels accessible from its box.

SFR advantage

4. Equipment

The SFR Box Plus is equipped with Wi-Fi AC, four Ethernet ports and a USB 2.0 port. The accompanying decoder is UHD / 4K compatible. This week again, the operator is offering you 10 GB of cloud storage.

The Bbox Fit also manages AC 5 GHz Wi-Fi. It has 4 Ethernet ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports and… that’s it since it does not come with a decoder.

SFR advantage

SFR or Bouygues? And the winner is…

We can only recommend the SFR internet box at the end of this duel since it promises more attractive speeds and includes a TV package as well as a 4K decoder. After a year, it loses its appeal because of its price, which increases more than that of Bouygues’ offer. Count 648 euros for two years of subscription with SFR and 552 euros at Bouygues.
