+2 cents per liter of unleaded super, +3 cents per liter of diesel and +43 cents per 12.5 kilo gas cylinder. All petroleum products are on the rise on June 1, 2021. The price is to blame in May.

As every month, the prices of petroleum products are revised, under the leadership of the prefecture of Guadeloupe.
And, tomorrow, June 1, 2021, they will be revised upwards.
Maximum prices set
From midnight tonight, the maximum prices are set as follows:
- The liter of unleaded super will cost € 1.64, i.e. 2 cents more than in May 2021 (€ 1.62 / l);
- A liter of diesel will be billed at € 1.37, i.e. +3 cents more (€ 1.34 / l);
- The price of the 12.5 kg liquefied petroleum gas cylinder will be € 22.04, instead of € 21.61, an increase of 43 cents.
By way of comparison, in hexagonal France, “the average prices observed in May 2021 are 1.53 € / l for unleaded super and 1.39 € / l for diesel“, specifies the prefecture of Guadeloupe.
The “Classes“always the cause of successive increases
This new increase is explained, according to the Palais d’Orléans in Basse-Terre, by “the evolution of prices which, on the first 15 quotations of the month of May“.
That is to say an increase of 7.28% of the Crude, whose barrel rose to 68.66 dollars, against 64 dollars the previous month.
The trend is the same for the average prices of gasoline (+ 4.46%) and diesel (+ 9.43%).
The price of butane also increased (+ 9.55%).
Another factor influencing fuel prices: the average euro / dollar parity. in May, 1 euro is worth 1.2121 dollars, against 1.1942 dollars in April (+ 1.5%).
