Aston Martin simplifies the name of its models, revises the power of the DB11 V8 upwards and acquires a new configurator.

A little early, Aston Martin updates its range for the “vintage” 2022. This requires in particular an evolution of the nomenclature of models. Thus the DB11 with a V12 engine loses the AMR suffix, for Aston Martin Racing, a badge which could indeed seem ill-suited to this coupe which remains above all a GT. The DB11 V12 nevertheless retains its power of 639 hp and its chassis settings that distinguish it from the V8 model.. The latter, meanwhile, sees the power of its 4 L biturbo unit go from 510 hp to 535 in coupe and Volante cabriolet, which now allows it to have a greater cavalry than that of the “small” Vantage.

DBS is no longer Superleggera

The DBS “super-GT” also loses its suffix, in this case Superleggera. This name was taken from Aston Martins bodied by the Italian Touring workshop in the 1960s. but it is clear that it was also unsuitable for a car weighing 1,693 kg dry in coupe and 1,863 kg in convertible. Under the hood of the DBS, the in-house 5.2 L biturbo V12 still develops 725 hp. The Anglaise can be fitted with new 21-inch rims. This is also the case for the Vantage, while the DBX options catalog is enriched with new 23-inch wheels., a wireless charger and Sport Plus seats also available for the DB11.

A modernized configurator

Aston Martin is supporting this slight overhaul of its offer by putting a new configurator online. This offers new options for the interior of cars, including finishes predefined by the brand’s designers.. It is based on the Unreal Engine graphics engine from video game development studio Epic Games, like that of Pagani:
